The Doubling Challenge

I've just finished reading an article by Stuart Goldsmith called 'How to Double your way to a MILLION'.
I thought it sounded like an interesting challenge, and you never know, if I manage to make it, I'll be a happy man!

The challenge basics are, start off with a penny. Somehow, double it to 2p, double to 4p, etc until you get to £1,000,000......... How hard can it be?

There's a total of 28 steps, detailed below.

Step 2 - 1p - 2p
Step 3 - 2p - 4p
